5th Annual Health Care Best Practices Conference Slated for Thursday
Designed for nurses, nursing assistants, health care administrators, and numerous other allied health care professionals, this year’s conference – Building Agile Leaders In Health Care – will focus on identifying strategies to help current and rising health care leaders navigate challenges faced by today’s health care professionals.
Taking place this Thursday, October 12 from 8:00am to 2:00pm at Villanova University, the event is organized by Health Care Connect, an initiative of the Chester County Economic Development Council (CCEDC).
The conference will kick off with a keynote entitled Passion: Finding Meaning In Your Work As A Leader by Dr. Michael Grossman, a well-known author, national speaker and career coach, with over 35 years of leadership experience in nursing. Participants may then choose from various topics for breakout sessions including:

- Talent 101: An Innovative Approach to Leadership Development
- Ignite Your Leadership & Influence Through Self Care: Mind, Body & Spirit
- An In Depth Look at Bringing Passion Into Your Leadership Role

- The Role of Adult Learning Theory in Effective Precepting
- Survival of the Fittest: New Manager Success
- Using Simulation to Professionally Develop the Bedside MSN Nurse
Participants will regroup for an afternoon keynote entitled Life Skills for Non-Traditional Healthcare Workers to Improve Employee Performance and Staff Retention by Marrea Walker-Smith, from The Clinic in Phoenixville.
Michael Duncan, President/CEO of Penn Medicine’s Chester County Hospital will provide closing remarks for the group.
Attendees not only have the option of earning continuing education credits but also will come away with solutions to help them address challenges in their facility and community.
