Park(ing) Day in Downtown West Chester

By

Park(ing) Day at the corner of Gay & High Streets was the place to be last Friday afternoon to hang out and enjoy some free lemonade and other tasty treats.

Park(ing) Day is an annual worldwide event where metered parking spots are transformed into temporary public parks in order to raise awareness of the need for more pedestrian-friendly spaces in our urban areas.

The park(ing) spaces can be anything! A public park, an open library, a concert venue, dog park, chess tournament . . . the opportunities are endless!

The mission of Park(ing) Day is to call attention to the need for more public space and improve the quality of human habitat!
