After working hard to get her first novel off the ground, Downingtown’s Jennifer Fenn is now watching its sales take off.

Though it took much time and effort to get her first draft off the ground, Jennifer Fenn of Downingtown has since seen her debut novel, Flight Risk, take off in online sales.

Originally from Kennett Square, Fenn introduced her novel to local audiences during recent book signings in Wayne and Exton, according to a Daily Local News report by Fran Maye.

“Writing the first draft was difficult,” she said. “I sat and looked at every single word.”

Flight Risk brings to life the “thrilling story about one teenager who is determined to find a moment of transcendence after everyone else has written him off as lost,” the article explained.

It’s inspired by the true story of the Barefoot Bandit, Colton Harris Moore, and his string of airplane, boat, and car thefts.

As Fenn enjoys newfound success, she is also working on another novel, titled Sound Check, which she aims to release a year from this fall.
