Chadds Ford Barn Shops Set to Make a Comeback

The Chadds Ford Barn Shops are being given a new lease on life thanks to the efforts of its new owner John Anderson and his daughter Bri Brant, writes John Chambless for the Chester County Press.
Once a popular shopping destination, the complex had been all but forgotten as excitement waned and shops often closed as fast as they opened.

Anderson, who purchased the complex in February, is now overseeing some of the renovations. However, his daughter is in charge of boosting the businesses’ profile while also moving her unique array of handmade bags and furniture into the old Chadds Ford Gallery.
“It’s crazy that we got to buy it,” said Bri. “Now’s my time to get in here and make it work.”
Bri knows the shopping village well. She spent five years working as a sandwich girl in the “wooden Wawa,” where she made lunches for local artists, including Andrew Wyeth.
“We’d like to get a café in the back,” she said. “It used to be a fudge shop, back in the day. We need a hub, a place for everyone to meet.”
