Downingtown-Thorndale Chamber Recognizes DiMatteo Insurance, Others at Awards Dinner

The Downingtown-Thorndale Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized various community members and businesses during its annual awards dinner at the Downingtown Country Club, writes Virginia Lindak for the Daily Local News.

“We love honoring the Business of the Year and the Citizen of the Year because of their dedication to the community,” said Michael Glover, president of the chamber.

Citizen of the Year was awarded to Jack Hines for his dedication to the community, which includes 34 years as West Bradford Township manager. He has also served as chairman of the Conservancy Committee of the Brandywine Conservancy and is currently a Trustee and a member of the Executive Committee of the Brandywine Conservancy and the Brandywine Museum of Art.

The Business of the Year Award went to The DiMatteo Insurance Agency owned by Albert DiMatteo and his wife, Rochelle.

“It really is an honor because there are so many people that are deserving of this,” Albert said. “It’s a fantastic feeling.”

James “Hank” Hamilton was honored with the Chamber Service Award for his work with a number of chamber committees and civic organizations, such as Downingtown Main Street Association and the Downingtown Community Education Foundation.
