Brandywine Health Foundation Awards Local Nursing Scholarships

By

The Brandywine Health Foundation awarded 12 nursing scholarships at a recent breakfast hosted by Freedom Village Brandywine.

These scholarships, established by numerous generous individuals in the community, allow more students to graduate with a nursing degree by alleviating some of the financial burden associated with obtaining a degree.

Since 2001, the foundation has awarded more than $249,000 in nursing scholarships to area students.

Eligibility requires attendance at either West Chester University’s School of Nursing, Immaculata University’s Division of Nursing, or the Chester County Intermediate Unit’s Practical Nursing Program. Although students in those programs come from throughout the region, the foundation’s purpose is to encourage more students to enter the nursing field, but also to encourage those in these local programs to stay in our area.

The following students received awards this year:

  • Jaclyn Carney
  • Jennifer Carr
  • Anthony Filippini
  • Samantha Polowczuk
  • Valerie McKeever
  • Amber Martinez
  • Colleen Ramos
  • Ahblah Abed
  • Joanne Daris
  • Devin Cunningham
  • Danielle Celotto
  • Jessica Chromiak
