Jeff Coppolino of Exton's Hilton Garden Inn donates pillows to a member of the Brandywine Valley SPCA.

Even after a good night’s sleep, guests at Exton’s Hilton Garden Inn can rest easy knowing that their stay is helping give abandoned local animals a warm and comfortable place to live.

The Hilton Garden Inn recently donated 100 used pillows to the Brandywine Valley SPCA animal shelter in West Chester, according to a Daily Local News staff report.

“This is a win-win-win situation,” said General Manager David Hirsch. “Our guests continue to enjoy the newest Hilton Garden Inn pillows because they are regularly replaced, the animals at the SPCA are made much more comfortable during their own ‘overnight’ stays, and all of these used pillows do not end up in a landfill, in keeping with our green practices.”

Those green practices enabled the Hilton Garden Inn to achieve LEED Silver certification, including solar water heating, electric car charging stations, motion-detected lighting, and rainwater-fed landscaping irrigation.
