Oxford is one of dozens of towns nationwide competing to have its Main Streets named the best in America by Independent We Stand.

The borough is steeped in history, with some families able to trace their roots back to the original founders of America, who settled in the area due to its convenient location between Philadelphia and Baltimore.

Oxford’s beautiful main streets – Third, Locust, and Market – are full of restaurants and small businesses that are regularly frequented by visitors from the surrounding area who also view it as their town center.

One of the key draws is the village market, home to locally grown fruit and vegetables, along with the themed street fair on the first Friday of every month, and the annual car show in September.

The goal of the contest is to highlight these unique and precious havens of history with the winner receiving $25,000 in cash and other prizes to spark revitalization.
