Excitement is brewing in Chadds Ford over Thursday’s grand reopening of the region’s first Wawa with a walk-in beer cooler.

Though beer is already available at Wawas in Florida, the single-serve and six-pack sales stacking up in Chadds Ford are a first for the Philly area, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal report by Kenneth Hilario.

“This new offering of restaurant-style seating and the addition of beer sales in Chadds Ford enables us to enhance the customer experience, and add additional products and conveniences to our offer,” Wawa announced.

“As Wawa’s food and beverage platforms and experience continues to grow, testing this concept will be helpful to inform the company’s future plans and assess the viability of similar concepts.”

The seating and cooler renovations took about a month to complete.
