Renowned in Upper Darby and beyond for its upside-down, sauce-on-top pizza, Pica’s Restaurant is now turning West Chester upside down in anticipation of the opening of Pica’s second restaurant on West Chester Pike.

Pica’s is already offering takeout, and plans its dine-in debut for next week, according to a Daily Local News report by Pete Bannan.

“We are excited and humbled that everyone is so excited for Pica’s of West Chester to open,” third-generation operator Lori Pica Rosario said. “Our wonderful, dedicated, and loyal staff has made what we’ve done in Upper Darby possible; we couldn’t have done it without them.”

The new West Chester location will also serve up to 40 jobs, and have space for 230 diners, along with takeout and a bar.

“It’s been in the planning stages for a number of years, and we put a lot of thought into the layout,” Rosario said. “The pizza is the same pizza we are noted for: cheese on bottom, sauce on top. Some menu items will be a little different, but it will be the same Italian specialties Pica’s is known for.”
