Coveted Barrel-Aged Beers Come to Kildare’s

By

On Thursday, the highly acclaimed and sought-after Bourbon County Stout series will be tapped and celebrated at Kildare’s in West Chester.

“We latched onto one of these rare beauties back in November, but we thought that we would sit on this until January, so everyone had enough time to clear their schedules for the event,” said Kildare’s owner Dane Grey.

For the stout, bartenders we will be pouring 6 oz. glasses, so that everyone will have a chance to taste the magic. Tickets for the stout will go on sale at 4 PM on Thursday, and Kildare’s will be tapping the keg at 6 PM sharp. You will need to get in early to make sure that you get your ticket for the beer.

Brewed in honor of the 1,000th batch at Goose Island’s original Clybourn brewpub, this year’s Bourbon County Stout is a liquid as dark and dense as a black hole, with thick foam the color of a bourbon barrel. The nose is an intense mix of charred oak, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and smoke. One sip has more flavor than your average case of beer.

Other great beers featured in the solid lineup for the event from Goose Island may include:

  • Domination (generally only sold in Chicago)
  • Muddy
  • Matilda
  • Sophie
  • IPA
  • 4-Star Pils
  • as well as some of their notable sours

This event is not one to miss.
