main-line-healthMain Line Health has unveiled a unique, $47 million health center in Concordville that offers both primary care and specialty physicians, along with an extensive fitness facility under one roof, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

When fully occupied, the 131,500-square-foot facility on Baltimore Pike will house dozens of physicians focusing on wellness.

“We dedicated a large portion, 55,000 square feet, to a fitness center for the community,” said Lydia Hammer, Main Line Health senior vice president for business development.

She added that the fitness center will function like other gyms as people will be able to join by paying monthly membership fees. Additionally, the center will offer specialized programs for people with specific ailments, such as cancer and cardiovascular disease, as well as a program for women who have just given birth.

The center had a soft opening last week for its primary care service and fitness/wellness center. All of its specialty practices should be operating by early next year.
