A pair of business partners is lacing up the old Caln Roller Rink’s skates once more, but this time roller skating is only the start of the adventure.

Putting twice as much money as they paid for it into new renovations, Jamie DiDomenico and Mike Jacobs are taking a big shot toward the goal of making their new Chester County Sports Arena a destination for all kinds of youth activity, according to a Daily Local News report by Brian McCullough.

“We gutted the whole building,” DiDomenico said, and then spent $1 million on “a new roof; new heating, air conditioning, and electric systems; a new floor surface; a multi-sports enclosure; new bathrooms and lounge areas; and new lighting and siding.”

The updated facility now hosts in-line hockey leagues, a roller derby team, clinics, open roller skating, and weekend parties.

Outside the revamped roller rink on the property’s 26 acres near Downingtown, they’re developing space for a summer camp with opportunities for fishing, kayaking, zip lining, mini golf, hiking, arts and crafts, and next year a treetop challenge course.

“We’re trying to appeal to all, not just hockey,” Jacobs said. “This is a multi-sports facility. The weekends are still for parties and family fun.”
