2. Vangaurd’s Total Assets Under Management (AUM) is $3.8 Trillion (Trillion with a “T”) dollars, roughly the same amount as the entire federal government annual budget and equal to $12,000 for every man, woman and child in the United States.

3. Vanguard Charitable, a charitable foundation set up by Vanguard to give its clients a tax-effective way to donate to charitable causes around the world, manages $5.9B across nearly 12,500 accounts and has given away $10.5B in 535,000 grants since its inception in 1997 ranking the foundation among the top 15 of nonprofit organizations in the United States.

4. Vanguard owns about 3 to 7 percent of the every publicly traded company in the United States and is the single largest shareholder of Walmart (3.1% of outstanding shares), Exxon-Mobil (5.15%) and Apple (6.27%) the three top Fortune 500 corporations.

5. With a worldwide “Crew” of more than 14,000 and plans to hire 1,700 more people this year, Vanguard is Chester County largest employer and enjoys a low average turnover rate of 9 percent (compared to 15 percent nationally).
