untitledWorld-renowned supermodel and actress, accomplished business woman, and philanthropist Christie Brinkley recently adopted a dog from Main Line Animal Rescue in Chester Springs, while at the same time taking the opportunity to promote animal adoption, writes Kristin Detterline for Philadelphia Style.

Brinkley – who recently jumped into the spirits business with her organic prosecco “Bellissima” – is known for her philanthropic efforts, many of which are based around the welfare of animals.

When she wanted to adopt a dog for her youngest daughter for Christmas, Brinkley turned to her good friend, journalist, and animal activist Jill Rappaport to track down a puppy. With her help, she found her tiny white Maltipoo named Chester at MLAR.

Brinkley and Chester are now the stars of three billboards along the Pennsylvania Turnpike that are helping to promote animal adoption.

“One of the things that makes Christie so beautiful is her willingness to help animals at risk, whether it’s opening her home to one little puppy-mill dog or urging millions to adopt shelter pets as part of our latest billboard campaign,” said MLAR founder Bill Smith.
