QVC to Celebrate Three Decades of Broadcasting This Month

QVC LogoWest Chester’s QVC will soon celebrate three decades of success since its very first live broadcast, writes Tara Behan for Main Line Today.

Nov. 24 will mark 30 years since host John Eastman first presented the Windsor Shower Companion, a waterproof AM/FM radio, for $11.49.

“We had a live television broadcast where we took phone calls from customers,” said Doug Rose, senior vice president of brand and communications. “Currently, over half of our business comes from orders placed online.”

However, three decades later, the audience remains the same, with women 35-65 years old still comprising 90 percent of QVC’s audience.
