An old favorite will be making its reappearance in West Chester when The Original Spence Cafe opens its doors at a new downtown location this month, writes Leigh Green for The Town Dish.

The venue’s owner, Andrew Patten, who has owned and operated some of the town’s most popular eateries throughout the years, has decided to resurrect the cafe as a modern BYOB restaurant version of its original Gay Street venue.

The new location will be across from The Hotel Warner at 131 North High Street.

Patten is also reconnecting with people he has worked with over the years, including Chef Blaise Labik, who worked at the old Spence Cafe before helping to open the Side Bar & Restaurant. The objective of the new venue is perfectly complemented by Labik’s talent in creating healthy and modern menus.

While the establishment recently started hosting a series of private functions and jazz dinners, a soft opening is planned for this week. A full opening will be held on Monday, Nov. 28.
