West Chester students are giving the gift of holiday cheer through expressive artwork on GWCC toy drive collection boxes at WSFS Bank branch offices.

Elementary students from across the West Chester Area School District are sharing their artistic talents through expressive decorations to the collection boxes that will soon fill up with generous toy donations from members of the community.

It’s all part of the Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday Toy Drive sponsored by WSFS Bank. Donations benefit the area’s less fortunate kids, and the boxes are on display at 12 WSFS Bank branch offices across the county and at the GWCC headquarters.

“WCASD teachers and their students look forward to this opportunity each and every year,” District Supervisor of Fine Arts, World Languages and Career Education David Ehrhart said. “I’ve never seen such a fine display of craftsmanship and creativity.”

Vista.Today readers are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped toys for children up to age 12 to drop off locations through Dec. 3. The toys will be distributed via the Care Center Foundation, the Charles A. Melton Arts & Education Center and the Friends Association for the Care & Protection of Children.

“We’re always so pleased to deliver these beautiful boxes to WSFS Banks,” GWCC Director of Membership Dave Fairman said. “We hope this collaboration gives the students a sense of community and civic pride. The contribution of their fine artwork to this project will ultimately lead to spreading some holiday joy to children who are less fortunate.”
