The Transportation Management Association of Chester County is hosting an educational luncheon on Autonomous Vehicles featuring Princeton University’s Professor of Operations Research and Financial Engineering, Dr. Alain Kornhauser, and PennDOT Policy Director Roger Cohen on Dec. 2 at the Chester Valley Golf Club from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM.

“Autonomous and driverless vehicles are no longer science fiction; automakers are already incorporating autonomous technology into their cars. Knight Rider’s KITT is here,” said Tim Phelps, TMACC Executive Director. “We must engage planners, engineers, lawmakers, and business leaders on these issues now to keep Chester County relevant and competitive.”

Dr. Kornhauser has been researching transportation and autonomous vehicle engineering for over 45 years at Princeton University. At the luncheon, he will address new policies for autonomous vehicles, how it will affect the future of transportation planning and infrastructure and why it is imperative that our leaders to become actively engaged in the dialogue and partnerships that will propel this new form of transportation forward.

The event is open to the public. For tickets, please visit www.tmacc.org or call at 610-993-0911.

The Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 11th Annual Charity Gala, and after a thoughtful process, Orion Communities was selected as this year’s beneficiary from a list of 13 extremely-deserving organizations.

Orion, which has been assisting the underserved residents of the Phoenixville area for nearly 40 years, will receive a check from the Gala at the Chamber’s Monthly Membership Meeting on Dec. 13 at the University of Valley Forge.

“The Phoenixville Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud of its commitment to the community, and its contributions to the growth of Phoenixville, including its non-profit organizations,” said Chamber President and CEO Jessica Capistrant. “The proceeds from the Gala will not only benefit Orion, but will also support the programs and resources the Chamber provides to the Phoenixville community.”

Wayne’s Egalet – a fully integrated specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing, manufacturing, and marketing innovative treatments for pain and other conditions – has announced the issuance of a United States patent covering OXAYDO (oxycodone) tablets for oral use only.

Egalet licensed OXAYDO from Acura Pharmaceuticals, and launched the product in the United States in September 2015.

“This newly issued patent strengthens the overall protection for OXAYDO and will be listed in the Orange Book alongside five other patents covering OXAYDO,” said Bob Radie, President and CEO of Egalet. “Issuance of this patent further highlights the uniqueness of the OXAYDO formulation, the only approved immediate-release oxycodone designed to discourage abuse via one of the most common routes of oxycodone abuse — snorting.”
