New Voter Registrations Flood into Chester County at 11th Hour
Pending voter registrations in Chester County doubled overnight ahead of the last day to sign up in Pennsylvania, a sign of the intensifying political battle in a state that could determine the outcome of the election.
A record pace of thousands of local voter registrations and more than 300,000 statewide have flooded the rolls in recent weeks, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report by Angela Couloumbis.
“It’s been crazy,” State Department spokeswoman Wanda Murren said.
Through it all, Republicans have added 122,979 voters statewide, though Democrats still hold a nearly one-million-person advantage and have “made inroads in Republican-leaning Chester County.”
