Chester County Briefly: October 28
Earlier this month, Jennersville Regional Hospital CEO Andy Guz joined family physicians Lisa and Steve Breslow as they celebrated the opening of Jennersville Family Medicine’s new West Grove office, located within the Jenners Commons.
The Breslows recently joined the busy practice that serves families living in the extended southern Chester County region. The couple both earned their medical degrees from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residencies at Crozer-Keystone Health System. The Breslows complement the providers already caring for patients within the practice, including Marilyn Knaub, M.D., and Nurse Practitioners Sharon Jarrett and Autumn Smith.

Pennsylvania Bio, the statewide trade association for the state’s life sciences industry that is based in Wayne, has announced that it has outgrown its name after 27 years, and is changing its name and brand to Life Sciences Pennsylvania.
The independent association has expanded well beyond its founders’ original focus on biotechnology and today has a membership of more than 700 organizations representing the entire life sciences industry in Pennsylvania.
“The life sciences industry is changing and evolving at an unprecedented pace,” said Christopher Molineaux, President and CEO of Life Sciences Pennsylvania. “In Pennsylvania, we’re seeing mergers and acquisitions consolidate companies, focus strategies, and inspire the formation of new, specialized entrepreneurial enterprises. Pennsylvania is rich with opportunity and talent along with being an outstanding place to live and work.”
Wayne’s Teleflex has reported its third-quarter results, which include net revenues of $455.6 million, an increase of 2.7 percent compared to the prior year period. GAAP diluted earnings per share from continuing operations increased 10.2 percent to $1.40, as compared to $1.27 in the prior year period. And adjusted diluted earnings per share from continuing operations increased 12.5 percent to $1.80, compared to $1.60 in the prior year period.
“Third quarter sales were below our expectations, driven in part by weakness in certain Asian emerging markets, continued softness in oil-based Latin American economies, the timing of distributor purchases, which negatively impacted some of our North American product lines, and a slower-than-initially-anticipated contribution from revenue associated with new products,” said Benson Smith, Chairman and CEO.
