Exton’s Omega Flex has announced its third-quarter earnings, with net sales for the first nine months of this year exceeding the same period of last year by 1.9 percent to $68,408,000 from $67,165,000.

However, net sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2016 decreased 2.5 percent compared to the same period in 2015. Nonetheless, Omega stated that the company’s unit sales volume for the current year is still outpacing last year’s unprecedented sales levels.

Robotic CT has installed an innovative new CT scanner for horses in a barn at the New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania’s veterinary school in Kennett Square. The new device significantly advances medical care for horses, as it allows them to remain awake and standing as scanners on two mechanical arms move around them.

The high-quality images, some of them in 3D, offer detailed anatomical views of the animal in its normal, upright state for the first time in veterinary science. There are hopes that this breakthrough can be adapted for people in the near future.
