Chester County women in the Coatesville area now have a high-tech, streamlined path to prevent breast cancer thanks to Brandywine Hospital’s new Women’s Imaging Center.

The specialty service just inside the hospital’s outpatient entrance offers same-day 3D mammogram screenings and guaranteed consultations within 48 hours if an abnormality is found, along with other key services like breast ultrasounds, minimally invasive breast biopsy procedures and bone density screenings.

On top of that, Brandywine Hospital provides a Nurse Navigator to guide patients every step of their journey.

“We are excited to offer patients access to advanced screening and diagnostic services in one convenient location,” surgeon and Medical Director Timothy Fox, M.D. said.

“The Center features advanced technology, such as 3D digital mammography (tomosynthesis), allowing physicians to detect the smallest of tumors sooner, at the earliest stages of breast cancer when they are most curable.”

With one in eight American women likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer, the new Women’s Imaging Center is an important weapon to fight back with.
