The Exton office of Belfor, the national integrated disaster recovery and property restoration service, was gearing up last week in preparation for the arrival of Hurricane Mathew, writes Brian McCullough for Daily Local News.

“All Belfor national emergency response teams are mobilized throughout the areas expected to be hit by Hurricane Matthew,” said Belfor in a statement.

The company from Birmingham, Michigan, moved into its new 78,000-square-foot office building on Clover Mill Road in Exton last November, one of 100 such centers nationwide.

From the Exton office, its 120 employees can cover communities on the Main Line and in Chester, Montgomery and Berks counties as well as provide a tri-state hub for the company’s property restoration division.

It also operates as a distribution center for Belfor Holdings which coordinates the entire company network nationwide to ensure that when a disaster hits elsewhere in the country, the nearby offices can reach out to Exton for supplies.

“This week is a good example,” said Daryl R. Tunno, a Belfor general manager. “We’re one of five hubs for the national fleet from across the country.”
