Starting October 1, Penn Vet’s New Bolton Center in Kennett Square will be beamed into homes around the country in the new Animal Planet docu-series “Life at Vet U,” writes Katherine Unger Baillie for Penn Current.

The show follows six fourth-year students at the School of Veterinary Medicine during their clinical rotations–the daunting practical part of their studies at one of the best veterinary centers in the world.

The six one-hour episodes will focus on students, professors, and animal patients.

Here’s a sneak peek:

The production crew followed the students at all hours during their rotations both at Ryan Hospital in Philadelphia and New Bolton’s large animal hospital.

“So many little kids grow up saying, ‘I want to be a vet,’ but no one knows how much commitment, time, and dedication that takes,” said Brady Beale, a featured clinical instructor in ophthalmology and West Chester resident.

“Life at Vet U” premieres on Animal Planet on October 1 at 10 p.m.
