Collaboration spaces and plenty of sunlight are hallmarks of Saint-Gobain's new headquarters.

Malvern’s shining example of a corporate transformation and sustainable renovation done right officially has no equal. Saint-Gobain and its leading brand, CertainTeed, were just named the prestigious corporate Groundbreaker Award recipient by the Delaware Valley Green Building Council in recognition of the company’s new LEED Platinum-certified headquarters.

“Our headquarters is designed to maximize the comfort and health of employees through the use of a wide range of our building materials and serves as a ‘living laboratory’ where our building scientists can measure the impact our products have on a real workplace,” Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed President and CEO John Crowe said. “We are humbled to see our vision come to life and to receive this award beside our long-time partner, YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School, which is instrumental in preparing the next generation of green-collar workers in the region.”

YouthBuild will be honored as the jury-selected nonprofit Groundbreaker Award winner. Both Saint-Gobain and YouthBuild awards will be presented during a ceremony Sept. 29 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Philly’s elevated Cira Green park, one of last year’s winners.

“DVGBC is excited to celebrate the people, organizations and projects in our region that exemplify our mission to improve the health, safety and sustainability of buildings,” Executive Director Alex Dews said. “(The) awardees demonstrate the value of sustainability as a core principle. The work of our award nominees demonstrates a balanced approach to building that is healthy, efficient and has a positive impact on our communities.”
