Jersey Mike’s Sandwich Shop Arrives in Chester County

By

The Jersey Mike’s national sandwich shop chain has opened its first store in Chester County at the 300 block of East Gay Street in West Chester.

After a 60 year wait, residents of West Chester can finally enjoy the delicious sandwiches and subs of Jersey Mike’s at its first location in Chester County, writes Brian McCullough for Daily Local News.

The new location in a shopping center at 300 block of East Gay Street in West Chester opened last month to the delight of sandwich lovers. However, the national sandwich shop chain has bigger plans for the county with more outlets planned in the Phoenixville/Oaks area, Glen Mills and Horsham by the end of the year.

“We’re growing as fast as we can,” said Bill Farley, area director for the Philadelphia region. “We’ve been looking at a lot of real estate all over the region, and this place really jumped out at us. It’s right uptown and the fact that it had dedicated parking was huge.”

With its signature daily-baked bread made from a combination of an olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices, the shop offers a huge variety of different sandwich styles. In its first month alone, it has already found a loyal following among West Chester University students, helped by the fact that the shop accepts Ram Bucks.

Farley is also proud of the company’s tradition of giving back to the community, already adopting West Chester United Soccer Club as its area charity.

“We raised $3,000 for them,” said Farley.“We want to make a difference in the communities where we are.”
