The mission of the Brandywine Conservancy is to conserve the natural and cultural resources of the Brandywine watershed and other selected areas with a primary emphasis on conservation of water quality and quantity. The mission is founded on a belief that a healthy and secure natural environment is essential to meet the needs and aspirations of present and future generations. To accomplish its mission, the Conservancy works with individuals, municipal governments, county and state government agencies, and private organizations.

Assistant Easement Manager

This position assists with the administration, monitoring, and enforcement of conservation easements. He/she visits land subject to conservation or preservation easements to assess and document compliance. The person communicates with and assists landowners regarding annual visits and plan reviews, and provides information on a variety of land management-related topics.

He/she maintains individual easement records, both electronic and paper, and easement summary data in accordance with the Conservancy’s Record Retention Policy and Land Trust Accreditation Commission requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in geography, environmental science, biology, land planning, or a related field. He/she will have one to three years of experience with natural resource management, land planning, and/or conservation easements. The person should have the ability to comprehend and interpret legal documents and maps. The individual should also have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint programs. Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus.
