The West Bradford couple that organizes “Craft Beer Campout”, the successful private fundraiser for autism, have expanded their efforts into a community event this year, writes Adam Farence for Daily Local News.

Greg and Nicole Thomas have held the annual benefit at their backyard for the last four years. It gave an opportunity for their friends and neighbors to donate money while enjoying some craft beer and good food in a good, old fashioned campout.

The fundraiser has proven so successful and grown so much, that this year’s campout will take place at Paradise Farm Camps in Downingtown on October 1st, rather than in the couple’s backyard.

“Our goal is to bring the community together around a cause like this,” said Greg.

Making the event public meets the goal Nicole and Greg set for themselves last year of turning their private craft beer campout into a community event.

“Ultimately, it’s a good time,” said Greg Thomas. “Who doesn’t enjoy getting around a campfire and drinking beer for a good cause?”

Tickets cost $30 per person for adults, and attendees need to bring their own camping equipment if they are planning to spend the night.

“Our generation needs to understand the severity of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and learn more about the resources available for those touched by autism, and their families,“ concluded Greg.
