West Chester University, which has adopted a hybrid approach of in-person and virtual interactions for the fall semester, is set to open on time with dorms at full capacity.

The APSCUF has moved one step closer to initiating strike action at state universities including WCU, with the proposed timing for faculty members between September 7th and 9th and for athletic coaches on September 14-15th. However, negotiations are ongoing and any strike action still needs to be approved by a majority vote of the negotiation committee in September.

Six-year-old Grayson Savery, a first grader at New Garden Elementary School who has just completed 18 months of chemotherapy to treat pediatric brain cancer, will be the honorary captain of Kennett High’s varsity football team’s first home game on September 2nd.  “He’s so excited,” said Grayson’s mother, Jackie. “He will do the coin toss, get a jersey, go into the locker room and will sit in the press box for the second half.“

Royal Farms, the convenience store famous for its chicken, is continuing its expansion in the region. The Maryland based chain was recently given the green light to build a new outlet at Norristown Centre on Markley Street which should open in September next year. “We are very excited to be coming to the Norristown area and continuing to expand our presence in Pennsylvania,“ said Brittany Eldredge, Royal Farms’ Public Relations Director.
