Economist – Financial Economics

This position is responsible for forecasting and analysis of macroeconomic topics, with an emphasis on financial and market risk instruments for the U.S. and global economy. He/she will write analysis pieces that may include real-time analysis and additional commentary for company’s live website, near-term analysis and additional commentary for website, near-term analysis for monthly subscription products, and longer-term analysis for special projects and consulting. The person will manage, construct, and update models that produce forecasts for financial variables such as yield and swap rate curves, CDS, and corporate bond spreads, equity returns and volatilities, muni bond yields, and ABS yields.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Economics or Finance with asset pricing or financial econometrics as the core specialization. Experience with time-series analysis, simulation methods, and forecasting of high-frequency market risk instruments is required.

Data Entry Administrator

This position will execute updates to Moody’s time-series database via automated routines or manual data entry, and will update SQL meta data repository with documentation. He/she will maintain Economic Calendar by monitoring websites, email distribution lists, and direct contact with data vendors. The person will also produce reports consisting of tables and charts for Quality Assurance and Client Use, and communicate results and feedback on a daily basis to manager.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of urgency and motivation to follow through to completion, quickly, and accurately. He/she functions with a high level of accuracy, and has good organizational and communication skills. The person should have the ability to work on tight deadlines.
