In April, Jena Paige Kendra fulfilled a lifelong dream of opening her own flower shop in Downingtown not long after achieving another: winning a first place at the Philadelphia Flower Show, writes Brian McCullough for Daily Local News.

“I always dreamed of having a flower shop in Downingtown,” enthused Kendra, who lives in West Bradford with her husband Ryan and two children. “The support from everyone has been amazing.”

As with most florists, the biggest sources of income for her “Flowers by Jena Paige” store are weddings and funerals and Kendra cannot contain her excitement at its success. “I’ve well exceeded anything I could have hoped for in my first three months here.”

A graduate of Downingtown West, Kendra transitioned into the flower business from interior design. She previously worked at “A Perfect View” with her mother, who is now helping her with the flower shop.

According to Kendra, her “crisp and clean” style comes from her travels in Europe which is reflected in other aspects of the store. The East Lancaster Avenue shop also offers wall hangings, keepsakes, and candles from local artisans.
