Following the tragic killings of police officers in Baton Rouge, West Chester’s civic, police, and religious leaders gathered at Mt. Carmel Church of God in Christ on East Minor Street on Sunday for an event to help improve relations between the African-American community and law enforcement.

William Mossman, Phoenixville’s Police Chief of 25 years is retiring from the Phoenixville Police Department on September 12th. However, he is not done with police work yet, as he has accepted the chief of police position with East Coventry Police Department.

ArcelorMittal’s steel mill in Coatesville is helping provide the 160,000 tons of high performance steel for the upgrade to the Tappan Zee Bridge across the Hudson River north of New York City, one of the largest construction contracts in New York’s history.

Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce celebrated its centennial together with the debut of its community resource guide and membership directory on Thursday evening with an event at Victory Brewing Co.’s Parkesburg Brewpub. WCCCC President, John H. Lymberis took the opportunity to thank supporters of the chamber and everyone who helped put the 2016 directory together.
