Located in West Chester, Barclay Friends was established in 1893 to serve the needs of older persons and is governed by a Board of Directors, half of whom are members of the Religious Society of Friends, or Quakers. Environmental Services Manager
This position maintains department operations by directing the functions of the department, its programs, and activities. He/she will hire, train, monitor, and discipline staff, as well as sustain resident relations. The person will develop and enforce standards and procedures, coordinate outside vendors/contractors used in the delivery of services. The role will also coordinate activities and integrate with other departments the housekeeping and laundry/linen functions throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate will possess three to five years of experience in the environmental services field. He/she should be knowledgeable of housekeeping and laundry/linen policies and procedures. The person should have the ability to deal tactfully with all contacts and have the willingness to work harmoniously with residents, staff, and other department heads.

Director of Nursing
This position assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. In collaboration with Barclay Administration, he/she will allocate departmental resources in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. The person collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies and advocacy groups, to develop, support, and coordinate resident care, related administrative functions, and to represent the interests of Barclay Friends.
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a health-related field, and have three to five years of experience as a nurse manager in which potential administrative and supervisory competence has been demonstrated. He/she must be proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet.

Resident Assistant
This position provides residents with quality care by providing physical, psychosocial, and social support according to Personal Care regulations and the standards set by Barclay Friends in the Assisted Living Building. He/she assists residents with daily living needs, activities, and waited dining service.
The ideal candidate must be willing to learn the state of Pennsylvania’s Personal Care regulations. He/she must maintain a pleasant manner and be capable of dealing with others in a cooperative manner. The person must possess current certification in CPR and First Aid.
