Saturday, June 4 is National Day of Trails and to celebrate the day Chester County is hosting their first Community & Trails Celebration Day at Exton Park from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Team CMMD Foundation is hosting a 5K natural trail run along the park.  While you’re running, your family can participate in the multitude of activities going on around in the park such as, a moon bounce, rock wall, face painting, Touch-A-Truck, a bike rodeo, and more!  Discover the perfect gift at the vendor fair, have your child safety seat professionally checked and enjoy live music and food from local vendors. The event will run from 4:00 – 8:00 PM., with the trail run at 5:00 PM. All activities are free, with the exception of the run and food or vendor purchases.

The 5K trail run will begin at the Chester Valley Trail Exton Park Trailhead and will wind through the natural terrain of Exton Park. Register online here.  All proceeds from the run go to help local cancer patients and their families. All ages are welcome to participate in the run.

Bike Chester County will also be hosting a Bike Safety Rodeo for children from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  All children aged 4 to 12 are welcome to come learn how to safely ride their bike with a fun obstacle course created by Bike Chester County.  Children will receive their very own bike license and a free bike check-up from Performance Bike in Paoli.  All children must bring their own bike to the event and a helmet!

Event parking will be located at the Valley Creek Corporate Center, with handicapped parking at the Exton Park Trailhead. Wagon shuttles to and from the park will be available, or enjoy a quarter-mile walk to the event site.

Community & Trails Celebration Day is sponsored by Chester County Department of Facilities and Parks, West Whiteland Township, Team CMMD, Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC) and the Chester County Library in honor of the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day.

Exton Park is located at the corner of Swedesford and Ship roads (900 E. Swedesford Road, Exton). Its 727 acres are jointly owned by Chester County and West Whiteland Township. The County portion is 423 acres and includes the Chester Valley Trail and facilities and the playground.
