Mariachi music and fireworks wowed over 500 guests as the Brandywine Health Foundation celebrated its 15th year of serving the Coatesville area community during this year’s annual Garden Party.

The “Spring Fiesta at Springbank Farm” took place at the home of longtime supporters Bob and Jennifer McNeil.  Once again, Downingtown’s Kathleen Deets-Price led the dedicated volunteer committee in creating the fresh and exciting event that keeps guests coming back every year.

The highlight of this year’s festivities was “Battle of the Berries” sponsored by Univest, which saw six Chester County restaurants enter a one-of a kind dessert for judging on the night of the party. Among this year’s participants were Duling-Kurtz House and Country Inn, The Gables at Chadds Ford, General Warren, and The Restaurants at the Desmond.

First time participant in the event, ZING Sushi, started off with a bang as it was awarded the Culinary Excellence Award by the celebrity panel of judges including former White House Chef, John Moeller. Then Amani’s BYOB brought down the house with its dessert that won the People’s Choice Award.

The around $100,000 raised by this year’s Garden Party will be invested in organizations that help members of the Coatesville community. They help people live healthier lives, motivate young people through programs such as the Coatesville Area Youth Philanthropy Program, and create a safe and vibrant community with projects like the “Greening Coatesville” Initiative.

The event was made possible by generous sponsorships of 250 businesses and individuals, including Brumbaugh Wealth Management, Di and Dallas Krapf, and QVC.
