Home of the Sparrow Seeks New Executive, CEO Patricia McLennan Retiring at Year’s End

Home of the Sparrow, the Chester County non-profit that partners with women facing homelessness, is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer and has engaged The O’Connor Group to help with the hiring process. The Chief Executive Officer will grow the legacy established by HOS’s staff members, board members, volunteers, and the community over the last 22 years.

Sparrow’s current CEO Patricia McLennan is stepping down at the end of the year.

The organization’s unique and innovative programs help women secure housing, accomplish long-term stability, and chart new paths for their futures.  This position provides leadership and direction for the organization to ensure that HOS delivers the highest quality housing programs and supportive and educational services for its clients.   

Key elements of the role include setting and achieving the organization’s annual revenue plan and strategic initiatives, overseeing HOS programs and operations, board relations, leadership, development, retention of qualified staff, engagement and partnership with development on fundraising strategies and public relations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related field and have at least 10 years of progressive management experience. Broad knowledge of the social service environment and services offered within Chester County and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is also a requirement.
