Natural Lands Trust to Host 6th Annual Friday Night Lights at ChesLen Preserve

On July 8th, the Natural Lands Trust will hold its 6th annual Friday Night Lights event starting at 7:30 p.m. The evening is open to adults age 21 and over and will see music, astronomy, wine, and beer converge at one of the Chester County’s most inspiring landscapes, the ChesLen Preserve. Chester County Fund for Women and Girls Opens Applications for GAB

The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls is currently accepting applications from high school girls living in Chester County, who are entering their sophomore or junior year in the fall of 2016, for its Girls Advisory Board program. Applications for this award-winning girls’ grant-making program can be found online and will be accepted until June 6th.

Melior Discovery Forms New Biopharm Company to Focus on Parkinson’s Therapy

Exton based Melior Discovery Inc. announced on Tuesday, that it has finalized the formation of its spin-off therapeutic area-focused pharmaceutical company, Melior Pharmaceuticals II. The new company, which is also based in Exton, will focus on advancing MLR-1019, Melior’s therapeutic candidate for Parkinson’s disease.

West Chester Named Tree City USA by Arbor Day Foundation

The Arbor Day Foundation has named West Chester a Tree City USA for 2015, making it the 27th consecutive year that the borough has been recognized for its commitment to effective urban forest management. To achieve this, West Chester successfully met the program’s four requirements of a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.
