Wegmans Picked America’s Favorite Grocer

Ranking at the top of the shopping list for groceries, Wegmans was recently named America’s Favorite Grocery Retailer by Market Force.

Chester County grocery shoppers don’t have far to go to find America’s favorite place to stock pantry shelves. With stores in Downingtown, Glen Mills and Collegeville, Wegmans was recently rated America’s Favorite Grocery Retailer by Market Force Information.

“Thanks to high praise for attributes like cleanliness, specialty departments and ease of finding items,” Wegmans beat out national contenders like Publix, Trader Joe’s, Hy-Vee and ALDI with a score of 76 percent on Market Force’s Composite Loyalty Index, according to a Philly.com report by Nick Vadala.

Wegmans also fared well on Philly.com’s Clean Plates supermarket cleanliness rankings, garnering another first place with “near immaculate records,” the article stated.

Malvern-headquartered Acme Markets placed among the local top 10 — ahead of popular national chains Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s — but didn’t show up in the Market Force survey of 10,000 grocery shoppers.
