In the search for bigger and better pearls, West Chester restaurateur Dave Magrogan is discarding his hometown Oyster House.

Magrogan has recently been reshuffling his buffet of restaurants to seize new opportunities. He sold Downingtown’s Barra Rossa, now called Milito’s, in December and just handed over the Barra Rossa in Center City to manager Nick Longobardi, according to a Philly.com report by Michael Klein.

West Chester’s Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House will close May 1.

A new Doc Magrogan’s location is opening up for Memorial Day in New Jersey’s Sea Isle City, and two new Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bars are coming to Radnor Financial Center and Newtown.

“The real motivation is that Harvest is our best brand,” Magrogan said in previous VISTA Today coverage. “It’s where we want to focus our energy, talent, people, resources and capital.”

Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House served West Chester diners for 10 years.
