TMACC Issues Special Edition Newsletter and Annual Review

By

The Transportation Management Association of Chester County, the non-profit established by PennDOT  to serve as the liaison between the private and public sector transportation agencies on transportation issues affecting the Chester County business community, has published its end-of-the-year newsletter and annual review.

The informative and detailed issue gives an overview of the accomplishments achieved in 2015, introduces new board members, and gives updates on recent transportation and infrastructure issues in the area among other things.

Timothy Phelps, Executive Director of TMACC, opens the issue with a call to be less reliant on our vehicles, and to give alternative modes of transportation a try.

“What can we do to become a more transit diverse culture?” asks Phelps. “As you commute to and from work, or carpool your children from school and sports practices, be more aware of how you’re getting there. If there were other transit options would you use them? If the answer to that question is yes, then we hope you will partner with us, in 2016 and the years beyond, to make that modest shift into a County-wide movement.”

Following the introductory letter, Kerry S. Jones, Kristin S. Camp, Esquire, Pamela Conti, John Nagel, and Timothy Smith are introduced as new members of TMACC’s Board of Directors which keeps growing and adding experienced and strong individuals to its ranks.

The issue also provides a number of transportation updates and among the many projects covered is Route 100 which now boasts three lanes of travel between Route 30 and the Downingtown Interchange on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Route 29 and Pothouse Road are listed among the construction projects planned for 2016 and there is an update on the long awaited Paoli Station construction project that is currently wrapping up the engineering and design phase marking the final step before the commencement of construction.

The issues also thanks the TMACC members who generously donated over 700 holiday gifts for the patients and residents at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center as part of their 2nd Annual Holiday Gift Drive.
