Iron Hill Brewery Introduces Russian Imperial Stout in a Can

On February 16th the Iron Hill Brewery started canning one its most popular award winning beers, Russian Imperial Stout and from today, it will be offering the cans in all of its 11 restaurants, including its West Chester location.

Russian Imperial Stout has earned 11 medals for Iron Hill Brewery, more than any other Iron Hill beer, which is no small thing considering that the Pennsylvania brewery has won medals in 19 consecutive Great American Beer Festivals.

The newly canned beer earned its first medal, the coveted Great American Beer Festival gold award back in 2003 and ever since, has been consistently placing the Brewery in the top three at both the GABF and the World Beer Cup competitions.

First Resource Makes the 2016 OTCQX Best 50 Again this Year

First Resource Bank has been named in the 2016 OTCQX Best 50. This is second consecutive time that Exton based First Resource has been included in the ranking of top performing companies traded on the OTCQX Best Market, as it was included in the OTCQX Best 50 in 2015 as well.

The OTCQX Best 50 ranking is calculated based on the equal weighting of one-year total return and average daily dollar volume growth in the previous calendar year.  Companies in the ranking this year made it onto the list based on their performance in 2015.

“We are very happy to have been included in the 2016 OTCQX Best 50 and to have been included in this prestigious ranking for two consecutive years,” said President & CEO Glenn B. Marshall. “We are focused on providing liquidity and strong returns to our investors and this award recognizes our success in those efforts.”

Mark Poletunow Named New President of Malvern Retreat House

The Malvern Retreat Center announced on Thursday that Mark Poletunow has been appointed its new president.

Poletunow brings close to two decades of experience in non-profit leadership and a master’s degree in theology to the century-old Catholic retreat center. Prior to this post, Poletunow served as an Assistant Executive Director at the Ministry of Caring in Wilmington, where his responsibilities included the handling of the financial, programmatic, and operational activities of the $10 million agency.

“I am humbled by my selection to lead Malvern Retreat House,” said Poletunow, “and I am grateful to be able to use my professional and pastoral experience to enhance its heritage as a sacred place where men and women of all ages come to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ, through the retreat experience.”

Traffic Planning and Design Climbs Six Place on Top Engineering Firms List

Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. has achieved 14th on the prestigious 2016 Philadelphia Business Journal’s Top Engineering Firms list.

The Pottstown based firm first made it onto the PBJ’s list sixteen years ago and since then, has maintained a constant presence in the Journal’s ranking. This year it has further improved its position by climbing another six places after ranking 20th last year.

Founded in Oaks in 1989, Traffic Planning and Design has grown throughout the years to encompass transportation engineering services for both public and private sector clients across the Greater Philadelphia area and the mid-Atlantic Region which has led to its growing recognition as an expert in the field.

Fourth CCIU County Cup to Open with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Chester County Intermediate Unit announced on Thursday, that the official ribbon cutting ceremony for the newest County Cup, located at Delaware County Community College’s Pennock’s Bridge Campus, will take place on February 22nd starting at 11:30 a.m. and running until 1:30 p.m.

This is the fourth location for the County Cup after the first location opened its doors in December 2012, as a kiosk in the Government Services Center. The County Cup locations give students who participate in CCIU programs, the opportunity to learn skills that could increase their employability.

The day-to-day operations of the café are supported by student workers and volunteers from the CCIU Discover program, with guidance from CCIU job coaches. The latest location will offer breakfast sandwiches, bagels, muffins, soups, sandwiches, salads and desserts. For refreshment there is Wawa coffee and cold beverages on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., samples of which will be available straight after the ribbon cutting ceremony.
