The Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board is offering a new perk for its members in its continuous effort to keep current members interested as well as attracting new people and businesses into the fold.

The Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board Speaker Series will have its inaugural event on January 28th starting at 4 p.m. at the Sheraton Valley Forge in King of Prussia, writes Donna Rovins for Daily Local News.

The goal of the presentation is to provide useful and strategic information to members of local hospitality industry. This will be first in the series of events that will be led by the Board, with an additional five planned for later this year.

According to the Board’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Edward Harris, membership in the agency has increased by an impressive 23% during the last year, making this added benefit the next logical step to take.

“We want to provide more value for our members, and we felt that providing an educational piece in addition to our traditional mixers is one way to do that,” said Harris. “We have found that in the market there is no one else doing that. We want to do something no one else is doing.”

The first session’s topic will be “Finding Your Sharable Moments: Creative Content for Social Media,” and it will be co-led by agency’s Creative Content and Social Media Manager, Joe Tacynec, and Marketing and Social Media Associate, Taylor Tropea.

The topic will delve into the fundamentals of social media, covering all relevant social media sites and applications, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat. Near the end of the session, there will also be some time set aside for a Q&A segment.

“Future topics will include things like wine tastings, the basics of a golf swing or health and fitness recommendations — things that fall under the general category of lifestyle enhancements,” added Harris.
