Fox Rothchild’s Gift Drive Brings Holiday Cheer to Local Children

Fox Rothschild’s Chester County office hosted a holiday gift drive to benefit the Elmwood Gardens Community Center in Coatesville.

Attorneys and staff showed their generosity by donating close to 30 bags full of toys and clothing to the center, making sure that 25 children had their wishes fulfilled for the holidays.

The holiday gift drive is one of many events that the office participates in every year to help support the local community. During last year, Fox Rothschild’s Chester County office also raised over $5,300 in support of Alex’s Lemonade Stand and hosted a book drive benefiting the McNeil Children’s Library, among many other charitable undertakings.

On Wednesday, January 20th, the CCCBI will continue its special tradition of holding the Small Business Awards Dinner where it will present the awards for both Small Business and Nonprofit of the Year.

The Small Business of the Year Award, which is designed to honor a business that exemplifies entrepreneurship and leadership as well as civic responsibility, will be awarded to 3D Auto Body & Collision Centers.

The Nonprofit Organization of the Year Award has the goal of honoring outstanding achievements in helping build the community and improving the quality of those in its care, and this year’s winner is The United Way of Chester County.

The keynote address for the evening will be delivered by the President and CEO of PECO Energy, Craig Adams.

“The winners are part of the fabric of this wonderful County, which is home to not only a thriving economy but an unparalleled quality of place;” said Guy Ciarrocchi, CCCBI’s CEO.

The vibe insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring system, developed by Chesterbrook based Animas, has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration to help children and adolescents aged from two to 17 manage their diabetes. Vibe was already approved and launched for the use in adults with type 1 diabetes in 2014.

In addition to providing fine-tuned insulin delivery, the system also contains an impressive array of features including waterproof durability, customizable alerts which indicate high and low glucose levels, a high-contrast color screen with color-coded trend arrows which show whether glucose is heading up or down and how fast, and a small introducer needle.

Chief medical officer of Animas, Dr. Brian Levy, said the Vibe system will “provide patients with a more complete glucose picture, which is acutely important for children since they might not always be aware of the symptoms associated with high or low blood sugars.”

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza Opens in a Former Main Line Post Office

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza, the Florida-based pizza chain, will be opening its doors at a former post office on the Main Line as one of four locations that are planned for the Delaware Valley over the next two years.

Following the already successful Anthony’s in Wayne, the new pizzeria is planned to open at the 4,000-square-foot Wynnewood location sometime in July. The former post office building, located near the Giant Food Store, Old Navy and Mad Mex, will provide around 100 seats in the free standing pad site.

“The suburbs have long been starved for quality food offerings, especially one that can offer both a Friday and Saturday night out for adults, but also a great family meal if you want to bring the kids,” said Douglas Green of MSC Retail. “It plays both ways because they have a full bar, and it’s easy and affordable pickup on weeknights.”
