After years of dedication to building up the local workforce and helping businesses succeed, the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry is in need of a little building up of its own.

The prestigious Malvern-based chamber of influence is asking for tax-deductible contributions to repair its historic headquarters, a serpentine 1720s stone farmhouse within the National Register of Historic Places’ 26-acre Goshenville that’s dedicated to Penn Fuel & Gas and American Water Works Co. founder and former state Sen. and Congressman John Ware 3rd.

“Your contributions and generous contributions from members of our board and major stakeholders and Chamber founders will help us accrue a building fund to care for the needs of the building in the years ahead — without impacting the quality of events, programs and advocacy offered by our Chamber or forcing us to raise membership rates,” President and CEO Guy Ciarrocchi, Esq. wrote in a recent letter to supporters. “… Like your home or your business, our building needs maintenance. Like many of you, the recession of 2008-09 caused us to no longer have the dollars set aside for emergencies — like the needs of this building. So, we are asking for your help.”

The request to members comes with a suggestion of 10 percent of annual dues for both 2016 and 2017, though the CCCBI is gladly accepting anything above or below that amount, as well as contributions from others. Contributions can be made to the CCCBI Foundation Building Fund.
