Chester County Briefs are concise reports on what’s happening around our County.

Pottstown Borough Council to Vote on Criterium Bike Race

At the request of Dawn Gulick, the race organizer, the Pottstown Borough Council will vote today on whether the once popular Criterium race will be making a triumphant comeback to the city this summer.

The race that stopped running in the late 90s is planned to take place on July 10th, provided the council votes to allow the closure of several downtown streets for its duration.

Sponsored by Sly Fox Brewery and staged by Team EPS, the women’s cycling team, the race will start east down the High Street, turn north on Charlotte Street, west on Walnut Street and finally south down Hanover Street back to the High Street.

“Part of the purpose is to bring people to Pottstown, to have them spend money in Pottstown and support local businesses,” said Gulick. “This is not just about us hijacking the streets of Pottstown, we recognize that we need to give something back.”

EntireTech to Offer All-In-One Computer Services

On Friday, EntireTech Group, a tech company that believes they have hit on the right formula for a profitable computer business, had its grand opening in Thorndale in the former Color Tile store in the Barley Station Shopping Center.

What makes the EntireTech Group stand out from the plethora of other computer repair shops and big electronics vendors is the total approach service they offer.

The firm is offering a combination of hardware and software, together with a service to fix cellphones, a combination that may help the store succeed where many others have failed.

“You can’t go to a Best Buy and get a computer and a web site and email service all at the same time,” said John Gault, a CPA and Partner at EntireTech Group. “Home based businesses need the same thing larger customers have but on a smaller scale.”
