The tell-all, see-all backstage pass to a Victory beer’s journey from grain to growler becomes an instant hit today at the just-opened Victory Brewing Co. brewpub in Parkesburg.

The new $2.6 million brewpub opens the front door to Victory’s now-2-year-old brewery on Lower Valley Road and opens the tap to free-flowing public explorations of everything that goes on in the $39 million, 160,000-square-foot brewing, bottling and packaging facility from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

“Opening our third brewpub is truly a Victory for Ron and I, and for our fans,” President and Brewmaster Bill Covaleski said in announcing the grand opening. “As the popularity of craft beer has grown, so has the desire of fans to see where the barley-and-hops magic happens. We are proud to show our fans the great lengths to which we go to give them delicious beer and food made with the highest-quality and freshest ingredients.  This is what they have come to expect from Victory, this is what they deserve and this is what we will deliver.”

The grand opening offers the ultimate taste-and-see experience, with room for 348 thirsty visitors and 30 different drafts to go around. Among the features heralded by the national craft brewer are self-guided tours of the EPA Green Power Partnership-accredited and PR&LA 2015 Excellence in Food Safety-winning operation, a 1,000-pound authentic German stammtisch table, a double-headed growler machine, a crowler (custom can filling) machine and a menu inspired by local ingredients — many of them grown in the onsite Victory Garden or made from scratch in the kitchen.

Visitors will witness the step-by-step brewing process and experience Victory’s vision and philosophy in action. Located on the mezzanine level, craft beer fans are directed to viewing stations showcasing the equipment and ingredients that constantly produce beloved Victory brands.

Next, viewers are drawn to the mesmerizing fluid action of the bottling and canning lines where Victory brews are readied for their journey to the shelves. Glimpses of the whole flower hop freezer, cutting rooms and quality control labs are additional highlights of the tour, which ends at the newly opened brewpub for thirst-quenching beer and a delicious meal, including signature hand-tossed pretzels with Helles Lager beer mustard and jalapeño HopDevil cheese, and mussels steamed in shallots, parsley and Golden Monkey with enough crusty bread to respect it.

There will also be a lentil and chickpea vegetarian burger, short-rib and chuck Brewery Burger and brewpub-centric dishes like the spent grain bread with compound butter and raspberry preserves.
