SAP Welcomes Students from Chester County Futures for Film Screening

Nearly 100 students from Chester County Futures visited SAP’s North American Headquarters in Newtown Square to view and discuss a documentary about first-generation college students.

SAP employee and CCF mentor Luis Colmenares organized the day-long event with the goal of arming economically disadvantaged students with the information and inspiration needed to motivate them in the pursuit of their dream of a college education.

The day included interactive workshops, a captivating keynote address by SAP’s Rick Knowles, and a viewing of the documentary “First Generation”. This powerful movie directed and produced by Adam and Jaye Fenderson, follows the paths of four first-generation college students as they face the challenging social and economic inequalities of higher education.

The day concluded with a discussion panel and Q&A led by CCF Executive Director Maria McDonald and current Futures Mentor and Chatham Financial employee Dan Gentzel.
