The Brandywine Health Foundation Adds Three New Board Members

The Brandywine Health Foundation, has three new additions to its volunteer Board of Directors.  The foundation, which helps improve the well-being and health of people living and working in the greater Coatesville area, has invited Lisa L. Croft, D.O. of West Chester, Gregory V. Hines of Coatesville, and Valerie K. Martin of Glenmoore to join the Board. Since its inception in May 2001, the Brandywine Health Foundation has distributed over $14 million in grants to non-profits improving health in the greater Coatesville area.

Currently the Medical Director for a national managed care company, Dr. Lisa Croft received her Doctor of Osteopathy from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice. Dr. Croft is very involved in the community and is a member of several organizations including the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Family Practice, and Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Society.

A lifelong area resident, the Honorable Gregory Hines, is a Magisterial District Judge in Coatesville. After attending West Chester University, Judge Hines worked as the shipping and receiving supervisor for Sartomer Co. in Exton for over ten years. He also served for 8 years as a Personnel Record Specialist and Assistant Drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves. A former president of the Coatesville Rotary Club, Judge Hines is a board member of local organizations such as the Coatesville Youth Initiative and the Brandywine Health Foundation’s Youth Mental Health First Aid Advisory Board.

Formerly the Chief Financial Officer for the John Templeton Foundation for the past fifteen years, Valerie Martin was also the Chief Financial Officer at the Chester County Housing Authority for more than four years. Martin is a CPA with a Bachelor’s from the University of Delaware. A former board member of several organizations including the Philanthropy Network of Greater Philadelphia and Wheels of Wellness, she is a current board member and treasurer of Let Freedom Ring.

The Foundation also added new officers during the 2015-2016 season including Dawn M. James, Chair (Downingtown), Jason D. Alexander, MPP, Vice Chair (West Chester), Mark B. Myers, Treasurer (Unionville) and Gregory Cary, Secretary (Honeybrook).

“Dr. Croft, Judge Hines and Ms. Martin’s extensive and diverse backgrounds will complement our additional 18 board of directors, who will continue to help to guide our efforts to improve our community’s health and wellness,”said Frances M. Sheehan, President and CEO.
