One of the Exton area’s biggest business boosters has an exciting new cause to champion, and it still has everything to do with ensuring a bright future for the world around her.

Exton Region Chamber of Commerce President Sara Capinski has resigned from her leadership position, effective Nov. 30, in order to focus on being a soon-to-be mother of three.

“This was not an easy decision for me, as I believe each of you know how passionate I am about this Chamber,” Capinski wrote in a letter to the more than 400 Chamber member businesses; “however, with a toddler at home and two more on the way, it only makes sense for me to stay home with them and raise my family.”

The Chamber board has already begun its search for her replacement, and Capinski said she hopes to say goodbye to many members and friends at Chamber events over the next six weeks.

“I want each of you to know how much I have enjoyed my eight-plus years with the Exton Chamber. It has been such a joy to work for the Chamber. I have considered the members my second family, and I will miss you all dearly. I have formed many friendships during my time here, and I hope to continue those relationships once I am gone. I want to thank current and past board members for the support, encouragement and trust you have given me to lead this Chamber for the last few years. I certainly could not have done it without you.”

With roots as far back as the 1960s, the volunteer-led, staff-facilitated Exton Region Chamber of Commerce follows in the footsteps of visionary businesspeople who toiled to bring the Route 30 bypass from Malvern to Downingtown into existence and now strives “to advance the economic success of our membership by providing education, advocacy, relevant benefits and networking opportunities through Chamber and community knowledge and expertise.”

“I have no doubt they will choose an individual who will love this Chamber as much as I do, someone who will do bigger and better things for each of you,” Capinski said.
